Srinagar, Jun 26 (KNO): Calling for seamless coordination among the Army, CAPFs, Intelligence Agencies, Civil Administration, and J&K Police to maintain a robust security grid throughout the Amarnath Yatra period, Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat on Friday directed the officers to remain alert and prepared to ensure peaceful annual pilgrimage, slated toc commence on July 3. According to the details available with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), DGP Prabhat chaired a comprehensive security review meeting of Jammu Zone at PCR Kashmir here today, to review the security and logistical preparedness for the forthcoming Amarnath Yatra. Addressing the meeting the DGP said: “Maintaining the safety, security, and confidence of the devotees remains the foremost priority of all agencies.” He called upon all officers to remain alert, committed, and professionally prepared to meet any eventuality, while ensuring that the Amarnath Yatra is conducted in a peaceful, secure, and incident-free manner. The DGP took a comprehensive review of the prevailing security scenario and the preparedness of all agencies involved in ensuring the peaceful conduct of the Yatra. The Officers briefed the DGP on the overall preparedness and security arrangements at critical locations associated with the pilgrimage. The DGP called for seamless coordination among the Army, CAPFs, Intelligence Agencies, civil administration, and J&K Police to maintain a robust security grid throughout the Yatra period. Reviewing the security deployment in detail, the DGP instructed officers to ensure comprehensive area domination, intensified anti-sabotage checks, effective access control at vulnerable locations, and enhanced surveillance through the optimum use of available technology. He also emphasized the need for maintaining high visibility policing, strengthening quick response capabilities, and ensuring uninterrupted communication among all security formations deployed along the Yatra routes. The DGP further reviewed arrangements relating to traffic management and convoy regulation, directing officers to ensure smooth vehicular movement while minimizing inconvenience to pilgrims and the general public. He stressed that all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) must be followed meticulously and that every deployment should be backed by effective supervision and real-time monitoring. He also underscored the importance of close coordination with civil administration, health services, disaster response agencies, and other stakeholders to facilitate seamless arrangements for the pilgrims. The meeting was attended by Spl.
